Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month 2021 (September 15-October 15) with Hispanic and Latin American rock. Join Dr. Roberto Avant-Mier to learn about an alternative perspective of rock music history as well as rock in the Latin America and Hispanic countries, as we navigate and explore rock in this ethnic group, its history, bands, songs, and rhythms. Dr. Avant-Mier published the book Rock the Nation which analyzes Latino/a identity through rock 'n' roll music and its deep Latino/a history. The presenter/author will host a Q & A at the end of his presentation.
