Day of the Dead for Everyone is part of the Community Altar's activities. The Day of the Dead Community Altar is a library program to celebrate the Day of the Dead as celebrated by the people of Mexico. This collaborative event is courtesy of the White Oak Library District (WOLD) with the collaboration and support of the community.

We are asking for community support to successfully present this initiative. Donations will make a difference by helping us prepare a culturally accurate altar. Our goal is to bring our community together to celebrate and honor all heritages within our rich, multicultural society. Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated in Mexico and elsewhere that’s associated with the Catholic celebrations of All Saints' Day (November 1) and All Souls' Day (November 2). This celebration involves gathering to pray for and to remember friends and family members who have died. It’s commonly portrayed as a day of celebration rather than mourning. (Adapted from Wikipedia article, Day of the Dead - 2021).
