Virtual Paint & Sip: Summer Flowers [YouTube Premiere]

4:15 PM - 6:00 PM

Event Details

Hi there! Welcome back for another installment of the White Oak Library's Virtual Paint & Sip Series, Summer Flowers edition! For today's program, our lead painter will be Kim Hodges, who is our Adult & Teen Services Specialist at the Crest Hill Branch. Kim will teach you a simple line and wash technique for watercolor to paint two daylilies in the bright colors of summer.

Watch our YouTube channel on Saturday, July 24, 2021, and learn how to create your very own flower painting.

*IMPORTANT* For this specific Paint & Sip, you can pick up a print of the drawing at one of the three White Oak Library branches (Crest Hill, Lockport or Romeoville). Once you receive the print, you will then need to obtain watercolor paper to complete this painting, such as 9"x12" 140lb watercolor pad paper by Artist's Loft. Watercolor paper can be purchased from Amazon, Michael's or Walmart.

For brushes, you will need to use small and medium-sized round brushes. You will also need a watercolor paint pan with a mixture of colors OR you can just water down acrylic paint to use instead.

We cannot wait to have you create this lovely summer masterpiece!
