Join Chicago’s own Emily Belden, advertiser, social media marketer, and now successful novelist, as she discusses her novels, Hot Mess and Husband Material. Her books are romances starring smart female protagonists, stories with dark themes like addiction and loss, but also informed by Emily’s own life experiences, delivered with an informal voice that is at times funny, witty, and snarky.

HOT MESS is about 20-something Allie Simon, who falls in love with Benji Zane, a bad boy who's also one of Chicago's most sought-after chefs. When Benji asks her to help him open a new restaurant she sinks her life savings into it, but then Benji goes missing, and Allie's troubles begin.
