Put on your apron and let's make some tasty treats that you and your family can enjoy! We are making Rice Krispies Treat Monsters this week. Listed below are the ingredients you will need as we go step-by-step in the video to make these delicious summer treats. Ingredients Needed:
C = cup, t = teaspoon, T = tablespoon

  • 6 C Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/2 tt vanilla extract
  • 1/4 C butter
  • 1 bag large marshmallows
  • Food coloring of your choice
  • Chocolate chips
  • Cooking spray
Materials Needed:
  • Mixing bowls
  • Microwave safe bowls
  • Wax paper
  • Mixing spoons
  • Baking pan
  • Spatula

Recipe Steps:

Step 1: Spray baking pan with cooking spray and wipe.

Step 2: Put 1/4 cup butter in bowl microwave until melted.

Step 3: Add in marshmallows and stir until completely melted and combined with the butter.

Step 4: Once marshmallows are melted and mixed with butter, add 1/2 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract and the 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal. Stir to combine.

Step 5: Pour mixture into the baking pan. Using a spatula sprayed with cooking spray, gently press down until the pan is evenly coated.

Step 6: Put pan in fridge for Rice Krispies treats to cool.

Step 7: Once Rice Krispies are cool, take out and cut into rectangles.

Step 8: In a microwave safe bowl, scoop frosting in and mix in choice colors of food coloring. If choosing various colors, repeat this process in separate bowls. Stir food coloring in.

Step 9: Put bowl into microwave until frosting is melted.

Step 10: Spread out wax paper on a plate.

Step 11: Take Rice Krispies treat and dip into melted frosting. Use chocolate chips or candy eyes to put eyes on your monster. Place on plate to let frosting harden.
