Mark Schultz is a professor of history at Lewis University. He earned his PhD from the University of Chicago and is an expert in African American, Southern, and Oral History. His first book, The Rural Face of White Supremacy, was designated an Editor’s Choice by the Atlantic Monthly. He is currently completing a book on the history of African American farm ownership.
Schultz, Lewis University History Professor, will conclude the series of Book Talks based on Hurston's interviews with Cudjo Lewis, the last survivor of the Tran-Atlantic Slave Trade. Mark will offer the historical context of Hurston's interviews as well as how that historical context continues to have a significant impact on life in America in 2018 and beyond.
