There are several ways to view the solar eclipse on August 21st. Looking directly at the sun can cause damage to your eyes. Presented by Art Mauer, the program will show several safe ways to watch the moon cross the face of the sun. He will also describe how an eclipse occurs and the history of past eclipses.
Art Maurer has been the Director of the Trackman Planetarium at Joliet Junior College since 2005 and a Solar System Ambassador for NASA since 2008. Before joining JJC, Art was a volunteer for Will County Forest Preserve and a freelance writer of astronomy articles.
The first 50 arrivals will also receive a pair of solar eclipse glasses for safe viewing of the eclipse.
