This book club is a little like a traditional book club except we’ll take our meeting outside and walk while we talk! This covers three essentials to a healthy brain: mental, physical, and social. Each month we’ll tackle a book that’s at least 400 pages long, and read and talk about around 100 pages at a time each week.
We’ll walk and talk outside for about two miles over a relatively even, paved surface on the streets outside of the Crest Hill Branch. On days with inclement weather, we’ll walk inside the Library before it’s open. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing, which may include hats if it’s sunny. Everyone will need to sign a waiver before participating. Parents and caregivers are welcome to bring their children provided they are in a stroller.
There will be a limited number of copies of each book available for checkout two weeks before the first Tuesday of the month. You can find these at the Circulation and Adult Services Desks.
Connect socially via our Book Movement page at http://bit.ly/walktalkread . You’ll need to create a free account first.
